  • Label. The question itself.
  • Help text. A note for the person filling in the form. See Help text.
  • Placeholder. Grey words inside a text box until the person types.
  • Required. The form cannot be sent without an answer. See Required and rules.
  • Width. Full takes the whole row. Two Half fields sit side by side on a wide screen and stack on a phone.
  • Show in form. Turn it off to keep a question in the builder without showing it.

Every question has a Validation tab and a Logic tab next to General. Validation checks the answer. Logic shows or hides the question. See Show or hide questions.

Help text is a note for the person filling in the form: what to write, in what format, or why you ask. Type it in Help Text / Description in the field’s General tab. It can be up to 1,000 characters.

On the live form, a small (!) button shows next to the question. Clicking it opens the note. Line breaks you type are kept. With Rich text on, the note can have bold words and links too.

Multiple Choice, Dropdown and Multi-Select have a list of options. Type in an option, then:

Key What it does
Enter Adds a new option under this one
Shift + Enter Starts a new line inside the same option
Backspace in an empty option Deletes it and goes back to the one above
Alt + ↑ or ↓ Moves the option up or down

Paste several lines into an option and each line becomes its own option.

Click Bulk Edit to write all the options as text, one per line, or split by blank lines or commas. Click it again to go back to the list.

Press / in the builder to jump to the field search in the side panel. Type part of a field’s name, pick one with ↑ and ↓, and press Enter to add it. Esc leaves the search.
