# When your plan ends

What happens to a workspace that no longer fits your plan, and how long you have to keep it.

When your plan ends or you move to a smaller one, you keep one workspace on the Free plan. If you have more workspaces than your plan allows, the extra ones are **locked**.

## What happens to a locked workspace

| Time since it was locked | What you can do |

| The first 15 days | Look at your forms and answers. Nothing else. |
| After 15 days | No access. You can still upgrade. |
| After 45 days | Its forms, answers and uploaded files are **deleted**. |

Until day 45 nothing is removed, and an upgrade that gives the plan room again unlocks the workspace with everything in it. A locked workspace's forms keep taking answers meanwhile.

**Files people send to your forms** follow the same days. For the first 5 days you see them as usual. Files that arrive after that are kept but stay out of sight until you upgrade, and after 15 days your forms stop taking files (people are told the form can't take files right now, not why).

## What we recommend

Upgrade **before the 45 days are over**. Once they are, the forms, the answers and the files people sent cannot be brought back.

If you are not going to upgrade, open the workspace's **Responses** within the first 15 days. Files people uploaded are opened one by one from the responses page, so download the ones you want to keep. Files that arrived after the first 5 days stay out of sight until you upgrade, so they cannot be downloaded.
